            They expect to listen to the teachings of Buddha, the one with great love, enlightened truth and dissipated distress.

Người trí khuyên chúng ta thấu hiểu nguyên nhân của khổ đau, tìm hướng đi giải thoát và vượt qua mọi sinh tử:
            The wise person advises us to understand the cause of suffering, look for the right enlightenment path, and overcome all matters of birth and death.

Tôi khuyên anh ta nguyện cho tất cả chúng sinh phiền não được tiêu trừ, trí huệ được siêu nhiên và tội chướng đều năng giải:
            I persuaded him to pray for all living beings to eradicate distress, surpass preternaturally wisdom, and deliver barriers of sin.

Anh ta hướng dẫn họ đoạn phiền não:
            He instructed them to end distress.

Homework    

1. Tự tu thì tự ngộ: Self-practice leads to self-enlightenment.

2. Tứ chúng kính lễ ruộng phước của thế gian: The four varga bow in deep respect to the world’s field of blessedness.

3. Chúng ta nương tựa Tăng bảo tối thượng cho an lành vô lượng: We take refuge in the supreme Sangha-jewel for infinite peace and contentment.

4. Bằng tất cả tấm lòng thành, chúng ta gieo mình xuống đất sám hối những lỗi lầm, vô minh trong hành động, lời nói và tâm ý: With all of sincerity we touch the earth, doing penance for our mistakes, our ignorance of deeds, words, and minds.

5. Chúng ta mong Tăng bảo tha thứ cho những ngu si: We expect the Sangha-jewel to forgive us for all stupidity.

6. Phật là bậc thầy của tỉnh thức và giác ngộ từng phút giây: The Buddha is a master of awakening and enlightening in every moment.

7. Chúng ta quay về nương tựa Đấng Từ Bi tột cùng: We return to take refuge in the extreme Loving-Kindness and Compassion Being.

8. Chúng ta quay về nương tựa bậc thầy của trời người, bao la như trời xanh và mênh mông như biển cả: We return to take refuge in the master of men and devas, the one as infinite as the blue sky and the one as immense as the high seas.

9. Nhất tâm đảnh lễ đức Phật Thích Ca Mâu Ni: With one mind we respectfully bow to Shakyamuni Buddha.
